Enabling More Ways to Walk, Ride, and Roll

We are enabling more ways to walk, ride and roll with “safer routes to school” improvements and the first of several planned greenways under construction in Rose Hill.  The Totem Lake Connector bridge being built next year allows for cyclists and pedestrians on the Cross Kirkland Corridor to safely cross Kirkland’s busiest intersection.  Kirkland’s neighbors are following our lead with the broader Eastrail extending north into Woodinville and south into Bellevue, and soon all the way to Renton.

Through the boards where I represent our city regionally and advocacy in the legislature, I am fighting to ensure Sound Transit’s 405 Bus Rapid Transit is built on time and plans for Metro’s Rapid Ride “K” line are accelerated, and the city leverages those investments with robust connections to adjacent Kirkland neighborhoods and businesses.
